Aino Bender-Minegishi

Aino Bender-Minegishi (1965) has lived, studied and worked in Japan for 17 years in total. She has worked in cooperation with renowned Japanese TPS experts ever since 1998.

She is completely familiar with the workplace cultures in both Japan and Germany. Her assignments as a lean trainer since 2010 in such locations as Great Britain, Scandinavia and America, along with her understanding of each country's work culture, have further honed her skills in the teaching of TPS methods and principles.

Her long cooperation with both Japanese and Western trainers and consultancy firms has made her highly sensitive to the fundamental divergences between "lean" and the "Toyota Way". As a monozukuri expert and trainer she sees it as her task to bridge this gap in understanding. She puts this into practice when developing customer-specific study tours or training concepts.

When teaching the monozukuri philosophy, she thinks of herself as a practitioner of her discipline first and foremost. She began her career at ground level with initial vocational training as an industrial clerk and years of employment in a large industrial company. Only after that did she embark on academic study. This career path steered her particular interest towards a sound understanding of work and the "right" way of working.

Currently she is working on a book that tackles the question of what constitutes "good work", which is due to be published this year.
